Tafseer of Surah al-Kafiroon
This Surah saves you from Shirk
-Asbaab an Nuzool (Causes of Revelation), this is
needed to understand Tafseer
-the Kuffaar have SEVEN (7) different stages to fight
us
-it is a Makkan Surah
-it was revealed after 10 years into the Da'wah in Makkah
SEVEN (7) STAGES USED BY THE KUFFAAR IN FIGHTING THE DEEN OF ALLAH سبحانه وتعالى
1. THEY IGNORE YOU
-don’t worry about him, he's going through a phase
and he’s young
-he will amend his ways and come back to the jaahiliyyah culture & deen
And if all the trees on the earth were pens and the sea (were ink wherewith to write), with seven seas behind it to add to its (supply), yet the Words of Allah would not be exhausted. Verily, Allah is Almighty, All Wise. (Luqman 31:27)
-the Quraish said to leave Rasulallah (ﷺ) alone because he would run out of words
-but this is impossible because of Surah 31:27
-the Words of ALLAH (سبحانه
وتعالى) will never come to an end
-this is the answer given by ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) to the kuffaar who thought Rasulallah would run out of words
2. THEY GET YOU TO QUESTION THE WISDOM OF ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)
-they ask such questions as "Why did ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) reveal the Qur'an to a poor, orphan boy?"
-"why didn’t ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) choose a man from the rich cities (Makkah & Ta’if)?"
And their Prophet (Samuel) said to them, "Indeed Allah has appointed Talût (Saul) as a king over you." They said, "How can he be a king over us when we are better fitted than him for the kingdom, and he has not been given enough wealth." He said: "Verily, Allah has chosen him above you and has increased him abundantly in knowledge and stature. And Allah grants His Kingdom to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower." (Al-Baqarah 2:247)
-they
do not like ALLAH's (سبحانه
وتعالى)
taste in HIS decision of giving Prophet hood to Muhammad (ﷺ)
-the same happened with Talût
And they say: "Why is not this Qur'an sent down to some great man of the two towns (Makkah and Ta'if)?" (Az-Zukhruf 43:31)
Saul told Banu Israel that Talût was appointed as king
over them
-but because Talût was poor, they refused to
acknowledge him as their leader
-they questioned ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)
-just as Quraish did with Rasulallah
-they believe ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) has poor taste
-they question ALLAH's Hikmah
-Samuel told Banu Israel that Talût was appointed as
king over them
-Talût was blessed with Ilm and physical strength
The Bani Israel thought they were better than Talût
-because they had more wealth
-throughout
history, people always questioned ALLAH's (سبحانه وتعالى) taste for Shari'ah, prophethood
-people will always question Allah’s (سبحانه وتعالى) Hikmah
-past, present, and future
-people believe cutting the thief's hand is barbaric
-polygamy is unacceptable
...But Allah chooses for His Mercy whom He wills. And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty. (Al-Baqarah 2:105)
Quraish
had a meeting and questioned Allah’s Hikmah in His taste
for prophethood
-they were jealous of Muhammad ﷺ
-but they cannot tell ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) who to bless
-the Kuffaar will never surrender to the QADR of
ALLAH (سبحانه
وتعالى)
-they believe they know it all
-to the extent of telling ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) what to do!
-they tried to bribe Rasulallah
-they asked him to abandon this Message of Tawheed
-they offered him women, wealth
-but Rasulallah refused saying were they to put the
sun in his right hand and the moon in his left hand,
-he will never give up until he perishes or this Deen prevails
Often recounted as a response to his uncle, Abu Talib, during intense pressure from the Quraysh to abandon his mission. He declared, "Even if they place the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left, I will not stop until either Allah makes Islam triumph or I die defending it," signifying his absolute dedication to his divine message, despite immense worldly temptations or persecution
3. THEY TAKE A FAKE SHAHADAH
-they believe they can take a big chunk of Muslims when they apostate from Islam
How shall Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their belief and after they bore, witness that the Messenger (Muhammad ﷺ) is true and after clear proofs had come unto them? And Allah guides not the people who are Zalimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers). (Aali Imran 3:86)
-they think they can just come to Islam and apostate
and take a big chunk of the Muslim Ummah
-with them among the clear proves that came to these
Kuffaar was the slitting of the moon
-they wanted to created division among the Sahabah of Rasulallah (ﷺ)
The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder (the people of Makkah requested Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to show them a miracle, so he showed them the splitting of the moon). (Al-Qamar 54:1)
-among the clear proves that came to these Kuffaar
was the splitting of the moon,
-mentioned in Surah 54:1 (this happened in Makkah)
Narrated `Abdullah: The moon was split (into two pieces) while we were with the Prophet (ﷺ) in Mina. He said, "Be witnesses." Then a Piece of the moon went towards the mountain. (Bukhari: (5/63) Hadith 3869 & (5/58) Hadith 209)
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The moon was split into two parts during the lifetime of the Prophet. (Bukhari: (4/61) Hadith 3638) & (4/56) Hadith 832)
And (remember) when the disbelievers plotted against you (O Muhammad ﷺ) to imprison you, or to kill you, or to get you out (from your home, i.e. Makkah); they were plotting and Allah too was planning, and Allah is the Best of the planners. (Al-Anfal 8:30)
-they plot, and ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) plans, and ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) is the best of planners
And they (disbelievers) plotted [to kill 'Iesa (Jesus)], and Allah planned too. And Allah is the Best of the planners. (Aali Imran 3:54)
4. THEY LAUNCH CHARACTER ASSASSINATION
-the Kuffaar are delusional, they think wealth can buy everything
Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. (1) Who has gathered wealth and counted it, (2) He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! (3) Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire. (4) (Al-Humuzah 104:1-4)
5. THEY SANCTION & EMBARGO
-they will starve the Muslims
-hoping to make the Muslims come back to their ways
-the Sahabah went through sanctions
Abu Talhah (RA) narrated: We complained to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) about our hunger and raising from our stomach (the garment) bared the stone each of us had tied to it. He showed that he had two stones (tied to his stomach.) [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/585) No. 2371, Bayhaqi in ‘Shu'ab al Emaan’ (13/54) No. 9943]
People fastened stones on to their stomachs because of hunger. Mohammed had not eaten longer than the other people had, so he had two stones fastened on his stomach. [Shamaa-il Tirmidhi ch.50 no.5 (353) p.395]
-they had to eat the leaves of the trees for three
years in Makkah
-when the sanctions fail, they become frustrated
-so they kill you (physically)
-the Kuffaar will never be pleased with you
-until you go back to their ways
...And they will never cease fighting you until they turn you back from your religion (Islamic Monotheism) if they can. And whosoever of you turns back from his religion and dies as a disbeliever, then his deeds will be lost in this life and in the Hereafter, and they will be the dwellers of the Fire. They will abide therein forever." (Al-Baqarah 2:217)
-the sanction & embargo they launch against you
are strategies to make you apostate from Islam
-Abu Jahl’s idea was to scatter the blood of
Rasulallah among 7 tribes
-so that Banu Hashim would be unable to take revenge for Rasul Allâh’s death
Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims) though you dislike it, and it may be that you dislike a thing, which is good for you and that you like a thing, which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know. (Al-Baqarah 2:216)
-at
times in life, we hate something which is good for us and at times, we love
something which is bad for us
-we like sweets (candies & chocolate)
-but sweets make our teeth go bad
-medicine is good for us but we hate the taste of it
-that is how life goes: we hate what is good &
love what is bad
-same with Jihaad, it is good for us but we hate it
...and fight against the Mushrikûn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) collectively, as they fight against you collectively. But know that Allah is with those who are Al-Muttaqûn (the pious - see V.2:2). (At-Tawbah 9:36)
-the
scholars have said about 9:36, if the kuffaar kill your women & children,
you may do likewise to them
-if
they did not kill your women & children, you cannot touch their women &
children
-ALL the Kuffaar are fighting you
And those who disbelieve are allies to one another, (and) if you (Muslims of the whole world collectively) do not do so (i.e. become allies, as one united block with one Khilafah - chief Muslim ruler for the whole Muslim world to make victorious Allah's Religion of Islamic Monotheism), there will be Fitnah (wars, battles, polytheism, etc.) and oppression on earth, and a great mischief and corruption (appearance of polytheism). (Al-Anfal 8:73)
-if you do not put your differences aside, unite as
believers, and fight back, there will be great fitna on this earth
-the Kuffaar are allies of one another whether they
are Jews, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Atheists, or Agnostics,
-they will unite and fight the Muslims
LAW OF NATURE: RESIST TO EXIST
-until we unite and fight back, we will cease to
exist as an Ummah
-we must unite with the Deobandis & the Maturidi
-we will sort out Aqeeda issues later
-we will have a cocktail of Aqeeda but we have an
emergency situation
-we are being attacked from every angle
-so, we must unite and resist to exist
AYAT 1
قُلْ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ ١
Say (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)to these Mushrikûn and Kafirûn): "O Al-Kafirûn (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, in His Angels, in His Books, in His Messengers, in the Day of Resurrection, and in Al-Qadar, etc.)! (Al-Kafirun 109:1)
AYAT 2
لَآ أَعْبُدُ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ ٢
"I worship not that which you worship, (Al-Kafirun 109:2)
Umayyah al Khalaf & Walid ibn Mughirah approached
Rasulallah (ﷺ)
-and suggested to him they will worship ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) one year and worship the idols the following year
6. THEY WILL MAKE A PROPOSAL TO YOU
THERE ARE 2 TYPES OF PROPOSALS:
1. Praiseworthy
2. Blameworthy
-this proposal of the Kuffaar was blameworthy and it
angered ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ
وَتَعَالَىٰ)
-the blameworthy proposal is an indecent proposal
-but ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) revealed surah al-Kafiroon
-the Kuffaar to their Shirk, and we to our Tawheed
-the Kuffaar thought everybody would be happy with that proposal
They wish that you should compromise (in religion out of courtesy) with them, so they (too) would compromise with you. (Al-Qalam 68:9)
ALLAH
(سُبْحَانَهُ
وَتَعَالَىٰ) warned us that Kuffaar would approach us with indecent
proposals
-and they wish we would compromise as they compromise
-they think by you compromising with your Deen, is
courtesy from you
-and if you do not compromise with your beard, your
hijab, your niqaab, with the Islamic law of inheritance
-if you do not compromise with Zina, or do not
compromise with cutting the hand of the thief,
-if you do not compromise with Jihad, Riba, Khamr, you are not being courteous
They wish that you should compromise (in religion out of courtesy) with them, so they (too) would compromise with you. (Al-Qalam 68:9)
-basically, they want us to compromise with our Deen
in its totality
-but they will never cease to fight us
-and when you refuse to compromise your Deen, they
will kick you out of their land
-just as the people of Lut (as) did to him
Al-A’raf 7|82|But the answer of his people was only that they said, "Evict them from your city! Indeed, they are men who keep themselves pure."
-deportation is on their agenda
-Quraish believed in ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)
-so why did ALLAH refer to them as Kuffaar in Surah al-Kafirun?
Never will the Jews or the Christians be pleased with you (O Muhammad Peace be upon him) until you follow their religion... (Al-Baqarah 2:120)
And if you (O Muhammad ﷺ) ask them: "Who has created the heavens and the earth," they will certainly say: "Allah." Say: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah!" But most of them know not. (Luqman 31:25)
-the name of Rasul Allâh’s father was
"Abdullah"
-31:25 proves that Quraish didn’t have a problem with
Tawheed Rububiyyah
-they believed in ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) yet ALLAH referred to them as
Kuffaar in Surah al-Kafirun
-although they believed in ALLAH, they did not single
out ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ
وَتَعَالَىٰ) in Ibadat
-they associated with ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) partners
Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin. (An-Nisa 4:48)
-ALLAH (سبحانه
وتعالى) will
forgive anything except Shirk
-Christians do believe in ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)
-but it’s not similar to the Islamic Monotheism
-the Barelvis are Kuffaar
-they believe in ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) but pray to the inhabitants of the graves
-to believe in ALLAH (سبحانه
وتعالى) is not
enough
-we must reject the Tawagheet
-Abu Jahal believed in ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) and prayed to ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) to rain down stones if Rasulallah was a true Prophet
There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah, and then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower. (Al-Baqarah 2:256)
-but
ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ
وَتَعَالَىٰ) didn’t see it appropriate to punish them while
Muhammad SAWS was in their midst
-Quraish worshipped 360 idols around the Ka'ba
-their problem was not Tawheed Rububiyyah
-it was Tawheed Ibadat by worshipping idols
-they had a problem with Tawheed Haakimiyyah because
they legalized Riba
-they also made the dead meat halal saying ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) killed it so why not eat it
Eat not (O believers) of that (meat) on which Allah's Name has not been pronounced (at the time of the slaughtering of the animal), for sure it is Fisq (a sin and disobedience of Allah). And certainly, the Shayatin (devils) do inspire their friends (from mankind) to dispute with you, and if you obey them [by making Al Maytatah (a dead animal) legal by eating it], then you would indeed be Mushrikûn (polytheists) [because they (devils and their friends) made lawful to you to eat that which Allah has made unlawful to eat and you obeyed them by considering it lawful to eat, and by doing so you worshipped them, and to worship others besides Allah is polytheism]. (Al-An'am 6:121)
-they made halal what ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) made haraam
-they had a problem with Tawheed Asma was Siffat
-they called the angels ALLAH's (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) daughters
Now ask them (O Muhammad ﷺ): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" (As-Saffat 37:149)
Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? (As-Saffat 37:150)
Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: (As-Saffat 37:151)
-it is not the Christians alone who associated to ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) a son
"Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! (As-Saffat 37:152)
Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? (As-Saffat 37:153)
What is the matter with you? How do you decide? (As-Saffat 37:154)
-they kept the sons for themselves and gave ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) daughters
-but who told them angels were females?
-did ALLAH (سبحانه
وتعالى) make them
witnesses to the creation of the angels
-rather it is an Ifk (slander, a big lie) that they
are uttering
-the Jews said ALLAH's (سبحانه وتعالى) Hands are tied
Indeed, Allah has heard the statement of those (Jews) who say: "Truly, Allah is poor and we are rich!" We shall record what they have said and their killing of the Prophets unjustly, and We shall say: "Taste you the torment of the burning (Fire)." (Aali Imran 3:181)
-the Christians gave ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) a son
-the pagans gave ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) daughters
-the Shia’s also lie on ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)
-but ONLY you, the Muwahhid (from the root word "Wahid" (one)) is on the right Aqeeda concerning ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)
And by the Mercy of Allah, you dealt with them gently. And had you been severe and harshhearted, they would have broken away from about you; so pass over (their faults), and ask (Allah's) Forgiveness for them; and consult them in the affairs. Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allah, certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him). (Aali Imran 3:159)
-the democrats say Democracy is Shura, that is a lie
against ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ
وَتَعَالَىٰ)
-the Saudi Salafis lie about ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ)
-A Democrat will tell you that 3:159 is talking about
Democracy and not about the Islamic Shura
-as was practiced by the Salaf
-A Kaafir is a person who does not accept Rasulallah ﷺ
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad, any Christian or Jew who heard about me and died whilst rejecting me, such a person is in the hell fire to abide there forever. [Sahih Muslim - Book 001, Number 0284]
-Unitarian
Christians do not believe that Jesus AS is god
-Jehovah's
Witnesses do not believe that Jesus AS is god
-although
they do not believe in the divinity of Jesus AS, they are still Kuffaar
-because of the hadith where Rasulallah said "By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad, any Christian or Jew who heard about me and died whilst rejecting me, such a person is in the hell fire to abide there for ever."
-what
about the people in Amazon or New Guinea? They never heard about Muhammad ﷺ
-we
consider them as Kuffaar in dunya
-because
the first condition of the Shahadah is knowledge of the Shahadah
-knowledge
of what the Shahadah means
-you cannot, with your Irja', pronounce a Kaafir Muslims
-Irja': to call a Kaafir Muslim
-Kaafir is from root word kaafira"
-kaafira: to cover up
-the Kaafir is covering up his Fitrah
-fitrah the natural instinct that a human being has to worship ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) alone
And (remember) when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed (or from Adam's loin his offspring) and made them testify as to themselves (saying): "Am I not your Lord?" They said: "Yes! We testify," lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: "Verily, we have been unaware of this." (Al-A'raf 7:172)
Have you seen him who takes his own lust (vain desires) as his ilah (god), and Allah knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart, and put a cover on his sight? Who then will guide him after Allah? Will you not then remember? (Al-Jathiyah 45:23)
The atheists worships his evil and corrupted desires
-kaafir also means a person who is ungrateful
-so, the Rasul was commanded by ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)
-"you kaafir, the kuffaar of Makkah," - the
Rasul was commanded to call them kaafirs
-because they were ungrateful men
-they were from Quraish, and they were benefiting from the dua of Abraham
And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) said, "My Lord, make this city (Makkah) a place of security and provide its people with fruits, such of them as believe in Allah and the Last Day." He (Allah) answered: "As for him who disbelieves, I shall leave him in contentment for a while, then I shall compel him to the torment of the Fire, and worst indeed is that destination!" (Al-Baqarah 2:126)
-they were benefiting for the dua of Abraham ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) provided them with safety
-the Quraish, who were wealthy, were benefiting -
they had security and food-
-Umayyah and al-Waleed ibn al-Mughirah benefited from
the du'a of Ibrahim AS
-even though they were benefiting from the dua - they
did NOT Thank ALLAH
-they did not thank ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ)
-they did not say ALHAMDULILLAH
وَلَآ أَنتُمْ عَـٰبِدُونَ مَآ أَعْبُدُ ٣
So let them worship (Allah) the Lord of this House (the Ka'bah in Makkah). (Quraish 106:3)
وَلَآ أَنَا۠ عَابِدٌۭ مَّا عَبَدتُّمْ ٤
(He) Who has fed them against hunger, and has made them safe from fear. (Quraish 106:4)
-they were ungrateful men
-they did not say “Shukran Lillah”
(It is a great Grace and Protection from Allah), for the taming of the Quraish, (Quraish 106:1)
(And with all those Allah's Grace and Protections for their taming, We cause) the (Quraish) caravans to set forth safe in winter (to the south), and in summer (to the north without any fear), (Quraish 106:2)
-they were ungrateful men
-they did not say "Shukran Lillah”
-so one of the meaning of the word kaafir: a person who is ungrateful to ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)
Verily, spendthrifts are brothers of the Shayatin (devils), and the Shaitan (Devil Satan) is ever ungrateful to his Lord. (Al-Isra 17:27)
ALLAH (سبحانه
وتعالى) says the
shaitan is a kaafir and that the shaitan is ungrateful to ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)
-A Christian is just like the Shaitân, ungrateful to
ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ
وَتَعَالَىٰ)
-ALLAH (سبحانه
وتعالى) gave the Christian
life and oxygen to breathe, and ALLAH (سبحانه
وتعالى) continuously
sends rain from above
-yet if you ask the Christian who is Lord? they will
say "My Lord is Jesus"
-the Christian will tell you his lord is Jesus
-he is like Iblis
-they are ungrateful to ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) just like Ibliss
not only are they ungrateful to ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى), but they also always try to pull stunts on ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)
And when they embark on a ship, they invoke Allah, making their Faith pure for Him only, but when He brings them safely to land, behold, they give a share of their worship to others. (Al-'Ankabut 29:65)
-when the boat was about to sink - the kuffaar did
not call upon their pagan gods,
-they knew the wood and stones cannot help them, they
are lifeless
-the kuffaar promised ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) to worship HIM alone if HE (سبحانه
وتعالى) saved them
-when the boat was about to drown, they didn’t call
upon Laat, Uzza, or Manat
-ALLAH (سبحانه
وتعالى) accepted,
and saved them - when they were safe on the ground,
-they started worshipping other than ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)
-ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) kept His Promise and saved them
7. THEY WILL
NEVER KEEP THEIR PROMISES TO YOU
-the kuffaar did not keep their promise - they have NO word of honour
And when a wave covers them like shades (i.e. like clouds or the mountains of seawater), they invoke Allah, making their invocations for Him only. But when He brings them safe to land, there are among them those that stop in the middle, between (Belief and disbelief). But none denies Our Signs except every perfidious ungrateful. (Luqman 31:32)
-when
the waves began tall like mountains over them, they begged ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) alone,
-and
when ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) saved them, those kuffaar were hanging in between iman and
shirk
-they were hanging between Islam & Kufr
-their
mentality: "when I am on the boat, I NEEDED ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى), so I supplicated to HIM alone
-now that I am safe on the ground, hmm now I can
ascribe partners to ALLAH"
-this is the mentality of the kaafir: always trying to pull stunts on ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)
This surah is a prediction
-this Surah is a prediction of the Quran
Say (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him) to these Mushrikûn and Kafirûn): "O Al-Kafirûn (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, in His Angels, in His Books, in His Messengers, in the Day of Resurrection, and in Al-Qadar, etc.)! (Al-Kafirun 109:1)
"I worship not that which you worship, (Al-Kafirun 109:2)
This surah is a prediction to tell the Prophet: these men who approached you to compromise, shall die as kuffaar
ALLAH said these men will die as Kuffaar
-so Umayyah al-Khalaf & al-Waleed ibn Mughirah
died as Kuffaar
-and they did INDEED die as kuffaar, their fate was
sealed, as their hearts are sealed
-they are finished both in this life, and in the
hereafter
-Umayyah al-Khalaf was the slave-master of Bilal RA
-this Surah says that Kuffaar worship whomsoever they
want to worship
-they think they can worship ALLAH whenever that
wants to worship

'Abdur-Rahmaan Ibn Muhammad Ibn Habeeb Ibn Abee Habeeb on the authority of his father, on the authority of his grandfather [who] said: I witnessed Khaalid Ibn 'Abdullah Al-Qasree - and he addressed them at Waasit - "Oh People, make sacrifice, may Allah accept it from you. Verily I am sacrificing Al-Ja'd Ibn Dirham, for indeed he claims that Allah did not take Ibrahim as a khaleel (close friend), and [that] He did not speak to Moosa. Most Perfect is He and exalted is He from what Al-Ja'd say." Then he descended and slaughtered him. I say: And the Jahmiyya and Mu’tazila speak with this, and they distort the text of the revelation regarding that, and they claim that the Lord is purified of that [i.e. having spoken to Moses and taken Ibrahim as a khalil] Mukhtasar al-Uluww" of adh-Dhahabi, (p.133).
-you must follow the Deen the Khilafah allows you to
have otherwise your head will go
-Ja’d ibn Dirham was a Jah'mi (he rejected the Names
& Attributes of ALLAH)
-he claimed that ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) didn’t speak to Musa AS & HE didn’t take Ibrahim (as) as
HIS Khalil
-we don’t believe in "Freedom of Religion"
-you have to follow the Aqeeda given by the Khilafah
-the tafseer of that Surah shows you the Kuffaar have
no respect whatsoever when it comes to worshipping ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)
-the punishment for an apostate is death
-some Muslims migrate to the West because they want
to apostate from Islam
-you cannot kill an apostate in the West because they
will lock you up and throw way the keys
-you must leave them to ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)
-but in the Khilafah, the Hudud will be established
Narrated Abdullah: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The blood of a Muslim who confesses that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that I am His Messenger, cannot be shed except in three cases: in Qisas (equality in punishment) for murder, a married person who commits illegal sexual intercourse and the one who reverts from Islam (Apostate) and leaves the Muslims." Bukhari, volume 9, #17]
-the Kuffaar believe each religious group should be
free to worship their gods
-there are no Buddhists in Afghanistan, so why keep
the idols there?
-and why didn’t your god defend himself from the
bullets of the Taliban?
-we saw you crying on CNN for you idols
-Yusuf Qaradawi passed a fatwa saying the Taliban
-shouldn’t have destroyed the "heritage" of
the Buddhists
There are 2 types of Shuyukh: 1. the real Shaikh 2. The milk-shaikh
-the tafseer of "There is no compulsion in
religion"
-is that we do not force the Kuffaar to become
Muslims
-we cannot force them to abandon their religion
-but if they become Muslims, they must remain Believers till they die
AYAT 1
قُلْ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ ١

-the word "Qul" in Qur'an is an order from
ALLAH to Muhammad ﷺ
-so Rasulallah wasn’t ill-mannered
AYAT 2
لَآ أَعْبُدُ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ
"I worship not that which you worship, (Al-Kafirun 109:2)
Rasulallah had no choice but to execute that
commandment
-Rasulallah (ﷺ) was harsh towards the Kuffaar
-no prophet can disobey ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)
-Ibaadah is not understood by the Kuffaar
-that is why they asked Rasulallah to worship ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) one year and to worship idols the following year
-some Christians worship ALLAH on Sundays (or
Saturdays)
-and the remaining of the week, they behave worse
than the Shayateen
-Kuffaar believe Ibaadah is a part-time thing
-they believe Ibaadah is a personal thing and you are
free to worship who you want to worship
-A Kaafir believes that you should put a
"Zulfaah" between you and ALLAH (سبحانه
وتعالى)
-Zulfaah: an intermediary
Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allah only. And those who take Auliya' (protectors and helpers) besides Him (say): "We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allah." Verily, Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Truly, Allah guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever. (Az-Zumar 39:3)
-but ALLAH called them Kuffaar & liars
-the Barelvis' & Christians Aqeeda says there are
intermediaries between them and ALLAH (سبحانه
وتعالى)
-Louis Farrakhan said ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) came in dunya the form of a black man
Narrated By Mu’awiyah: I heard Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) saying, "If Allah wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion. I am just a distributor, but the grant is from Allah. (And remember) that this nation (true Muslims) will keep on following Allah's teachings strictly and they will not be harmed by any one going on a different path till Allah's order (Day of Judgment) is established." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 1, Book 3, Hadith #071]

-Kuffaar don’t understand Ibadat so they worship
ALLAH with hope alone like the Jews
-the Christians worship ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) with LOVE alone
-the Sufis worship ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) with love alone and the Christians worship ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) with hope alone
-the Muwahhid (the one on proper Tawheed) worships ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) with love, hope, and fear
AYAT
لَكُمْ دِينُكُمْ وَلِىَ دِينِ ٦
"To you be your religion, and to me my religion (Islamic Monotheism)." (Al-Kafirun 109:6)
"Lakum di nukum wal yadeen" means that
after Rasulallah gave Dawah for 13 years,
-he will move on from Makkah to Madina and leave the
Quraish in their Kufr
Madinah was more fertile and greener in pasture
The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). (Al-Fatihah 1:4)
-"lakum di nukum wal yadeen" also means that you shall reap (in Aakhirah) what you sow (in dunya)
Indeed there has been an excellent example for you in Ibrahim (Abraham) and those with him, when they said to their people: "Verily, we are free from you and whatever you worship besides Allah, we have rejected you, and there has started between us and you, hostility and hatred for ever, until you believe in Allah Alone," except the saying of Ibrahim (Abraham) to his father: "Verily, I will ask for forgiveness (from Allah) for you, but I have no power to do anything for you before Allah." Our Lord! In You (Alone) we put our trust, and to You (Alone) we turn in repentance, and to You (Alone) is (our) final Return, (Al-Mumtahinah 60:4)
-"lakum di nukum wal yadeen" means that I
will never give up my Deen and
-you will never give up with your Deen and we will
sort our differences on the battlefield
-"lakum di nukum wal yadeen" is equal to 60:4
Then when the Sacred Months (the 1st, 7th, 11th, and 12th months of the Islamic calendar) have passed, then kill the Mushrikûn (see V.2:105) wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, and prepare for them each and every ambush... (At-Tawbah 9:5)
And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allah) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allah Alone [in the whole of the world]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allah), then certainly, Allah is All-Seer of what they do. (Al-Anfal 8:39)
-some scholars say that "lakum di nukum wal
yadeen" is abrogated because of the verse of the Sword (9:5)
-the Khulafah ar-Rashideen didn’t give the
"lakum di nukum wal yadeen" as an option
-but they gave the options of Jizya or be prepared to fight
Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of God and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom God doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of God, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly. (Al-Anfal 8:60)
LESSONS OF SURAH AL-KAAFIROON:
1. THE KUFFAAR WILL ALWAYS ASK YOU TO COMPROMISE ON YOUR DEEN IN THE NAME OF COURTESY
They wish that you should compromise (in religion out of courtesy) with them, so they (too) would compromise with you. (Al-Qalam 68:9)
2. THEY WILL SLANDER YOU & FIGHT YOU (PHYSICALLY) WHEN YOU REFUSE TO COMPROMISE
3. THE KUFFAAR ARE VERY CAVALIER
-they are very lenient with Ibadat
-and make halal haraam and haraam halal
4. SHIRK FOR KUFFAAR IS NO BIG DEAL, ITS BUSINESS AS
USUAL
-that’s why they suggested to Rasulallah that they worship idols one year and ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) the following year
5. THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR ALLAH & HIS RASUL
-this is why they ask Rasulallah to become a Mushrik
-how could they ask Rasulallah to become a Mushrik? This is ridiculous
6. KUFFAAR ALWAYS HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ALLAH'S HIKMAH
-they will always question the Shari'ah
7. KUFFAAR WANT TO TELL ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) WHO TO BLESS
-because they didn’t want ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) to reveal the Qur'an to Rasulallah
And they say: "Why is not this Qur'an sent down to some great man of the two towns (Makkah and Ta'if)?" (Az-Zukhruf 43:31)
8. TO BELIEVE IN ALLAH IS NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU A
BELIEVER, YOU MUST REJECT THE TAGHOOT
-Quraish believed in ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)
-they were pronounced Kafiroon by ALLAH because
although
-they believe in ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) they worshipped Laat, Manat, and Uzzah
Say (O Muhammad (ﷺ) to these Mushrikûn and Kafirûn): "O Al-Kafirûn (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, in His Angels, in His Books, in His Messengers, in the Day of Resurrection, and in Al-Qadar, etc.)! (Al-Kafirun 109:1)

"Nor will you worship that which I worship. (Al-Kafirun 109:3)
"And I shall not worship that which you are worshipping. (Al-Kafirun 109:4)
"Nor will you worship that which I worship. (Al-Kafirun 109:5)

Farwah ibn Nawfal reported that he went to the Prophet (ﷺ) and requested, “O Messenger of Allah, teach me something that I may say when I retire to my bed.” He said, “Recite “Surah Kafiroon” for it is a rejection of polytheism.” Shu’bah said that he would say sometimes, “(recite) once.” and sometimes he did not say that. [Tirmidhi, Ahmed, Abu Dawud]
Anas (RA) ibn Malik reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “If anyone recites (az-Zilzal, surah # 99), it represents for him half the Qur’an. If anyone recites (al- Kafirun, surah # 109), it represents for him one-fourth of the Quran and if anyone recites (al-Ikhlas, surah # 112) then it represents for him one-third of the Qur’an.” (Tirmidhi 2902)
